Most of our values would be shared by the majority of Christian Churches, but the following key values sum up the main characteristics:
“Yet to all who received him .... He gave the right to become children of God” John 1 v12
As believers we come into God’s family and become family together. We are a family together loving, supporting and encouraging one another. Our meetings have a family feel and, however large we grow, we are determined that it will always feel like family.
“The Son (Jesus) only does what he sees his Father doing” John 5 v19
As sons and daughters of God, we want to follow the example of Jesus and do only what we see the Father doing, by honouring God’s word (the Bible), being full of His Holy Spirit and sharing God’s love through acts of service, including healings, miracles and the use of Spiritual gifts.
“I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection” Philippians 3 v10
Our focus is on Jesus, on knowing Him more, worshipping Him more and becoming more like Him. We want to see His glory, His love and His power revealed to the world around us through our lives.
“But one thing I do; Forgetting what is behind.. I press on” Philippians 3 v13-14
We have enjoyed and continue to enjoy wonderful times with God. We treasure those times but we don’t want to stay there. We want to push on into the new things that God is doing and to be at the leading edge of His purposes. To this end, we are committed to personal growth in knowledge, wisdom and maturity, and to developing and using the gifts that God has given each one of us.
“Therefore go and make disciples . . .” Matthew 28 v19
We are called to make a difference in our communities and to make Jesus known in Malvern and the wider area. It’s not just what we say, it’s what we do; partnering with other churches and organisations in order to be the best we can be to the town we love.
FRIENDLY AND FUN
“Let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice” Psalm 105 v3
We love people and we’re a warm and friendly bunch. We are very serious about God and very serious also about enjoying the life that God has given us. We have fun together and in all our meetings, although there is sometimes sadness, there is also much joy and laughter. We are reverent but not solemn. We are a motley crew of different personalities, ages, backgrounds and experiences and we extend a warm welcome to all we meet, whatever their story may be.
